Meet Andrew Yong.

I run a studio of one, building production websites for founders, small studios, and businesses that care about the numbers. I started writing HTML in 2020, shipped my first production site a year later, and haven't really stopped since.

I don't take native apps, brand identity from scratch, or paid media. What I do is hand-code marketing sites and case-study pages that load in under 1.5 seconds on a mid-range phone — and stay that way for the next three years. Quietly fast. Considered. Boringly maintainable.

— What I do · four ways to work

Production sites & the retainers that keep them fast.

01 — Marketing
Marketing sites + landing pages

Sites founders email me about months later.

Small, fast, considered marketing sites for founders, indie SaaS, agencies, and personal brands. Hand-coded on a static stack, deployed to the edge so the home page loads in under a second on a phone in a parking lot — not just in your devtools.

  • Up to 10 pages of design + build
  • Custom illustration system, never stock icons
  • Real copy review — I edit your words before I ship them
  • Deploy to your domain on Cloudflare or Vercel edge
  • 30 days of post-launch tuning included
3 – 5 weeks · Project rate From the price of a small kitchen
02 — Retune
Performance retunes

Speed without the redesign tax.

Your site works. It just drags. I keep what's earning its place and rebuild the parts dragging the page past 500KB. Delivered as a clean PR you can read line by line.

  • Free 10-min audit before scope
  • Before / after Lighthouse video
  • Real-user monitoring for 30 days
1 – 2 weeks Flat fee
03 — Visibility
SEO + GEO retainer

Found by Google. Quoted by ChatGPT.

Technical SEO and generative-engine optimization done by the same person who writes your HTML. Schema, semantics, and content structured to survive both classic search and large-model summarization.

  • Baseline audit in week one
  • Schema markup + JSON-LD across pages
  • Monthly review + written report
3 mo min Monthly retainer
04 — Partnership
Studio retainer · capacity-limited

Two clients. On retainer. That's it.

You get a designer-developer who learns your stack, your content cadence, and your reporting calendar. Quarterly performance reviews are baked into the fee. I take exactly two of these at a time so each one gets real focus instead of slot-filling.

  • Same-week turnaround on urgent work
  • Quarterly performance review + 12-month roadmap
  • Direct line by Signal — no PM tier, no Slack channel
  • First refusal on new capacity each quarter
  • Annual SEO + GEO audit included at no extra cost

● Why Andrew · 06 of 06

Eight reasons people actually hire me.

Solo studio 01

One person, end-to-end.

Same person picks the font and ships the HTML. No handoff, no lost-in-translation phase.

02

Perf in the brief.

≤ 1.5s

LCP target written into every proposal — CI fails the build if a deploy violates it.

03

Words before pixels.

No template 04

No template, no Webflow.

Hand-coded HTML/CSS on a static stack. Boring tools. Still works in three years.

2 / quarter 05

Two clients at a time.

You're slot 1 or 2, never slot 47. I email back the same day.

06

Your domain. Your repo. Your keys.

Source pushes to your GitHub on day one. You can fire me cleanly.

07

Google & ChatGPT.

36 shipped 08

Boring + measurable.

No experimental WebGL. No animation libraries. Just sites that load fast, rank, convert.

What I've been thinking about.

— FAQ · questions I get a lot

Asked by real people.

Do you work with WordPress?

Yes, but rarely for new builds. I'll work in your existing WordPress if you have content, contributors, and a workflow that depends on it — and I'll make it loud about caching. For greenfield projects I default to a static generator (Astro or 11ty) on the edge.

What does "GEO" actually mean in your services?

Generative engine optimization. Tuning a site so it's retrievable and quotable by large-model answer surfaces — clean HTML, real semantic structure, schema where it helps, content written in a way that survives summarization. It's not a different discipline from SEO; it's a small extension of doing SEO properly.

Do you do design only, or development only?

I do both, on the same project. That's the point. If you already have a designer or developer in place I can plug into either side, but my pricing assumes the whole thing.

Can you guarantee a Lighthouse 100?

On most marketing sites — yes, and I'll write the target into the scope. On sites with heavy third-party scripts (chat widgets, ad tags, marketing platforms) we'll agree on a realistic floor before we start, usually 95+ across the board.

What does a project actually cost?

A small landing page rebuild starts at $2,500. A full marketing site is $5,000. Enterprise is quoted after a call. I send a fixed quote after the first 30-minute call and I don't move it unless scope changes.

Are you available right now?

Capacity is shown live in the hero nav. If the chip says "AVAILABLE Q3" I'm taking projects this quarter; if it says "FULL" I'm full. You can still send a brief and I'll add you to the next-quarter list — first reply within 24h either way.

Do I own the source code?

Yes, completely. The repository pushes to your GitHub on day one. The domain is yours. The deploy keys are in your account. Nothing is locked behind my account, and you can fire me cleanly any time.

Do you offer revisions after launch?

Every project includes 30 days of post-launch tuning at no extra cost. I monitor real-user perf, fix anything that drifts, and refine copy or layout based on early traffic. After 30 days we either go onto a retainer or you handle it.

● Free tips · steal these

Nine wins for this year.

01

Compress the hero image.

If your home page is over 200KB, the hero is the reason. WebP at q78 cuts LCP by half.

02

Kill your slider.

03

One variable font.

04

Headings as questions.

"How does this work?" outperforms "Our process."

05

JSON-LD on day one.

12 lines of Person schema. Free SEO win.

06

Defer analytics.

07

:focus-visible rings.

08

FAQ in ≤80 words.

The format large models cite. Become the source.

09

Cut a third of the home page.

Open it on your phone. Read top to bottom out loud. Every section you skipped is a section to delete.

Speed is a design decision.
